Cab fare cheat strikes again

According to AsiaOneNews:

Fare cheats are not new to cabbies. As reported by Wanbao previously, furious cabbies have called in to the Chinese paper’s hotline to complain about a female fare-dodger.

According to them, she used various ruses to escape from paying her fare. Within a span of 20 days, the same woman was said to have been taking cabs around the island, all without paying.

Crimes are low but it doesn’t means no crime at all, this message is for everyone and not only cabbies.

Fare cheats, daylight jewelery distraction con cum robbery or any simple money making scams on the market now can take form in ALL version of society.

Expect the unexpected and be suspicious of ALL people how stand to gain something from you especially money or something of value are involved.

Now for my wacky suggestions!!

  1. Never ever borrow money to “nice” ladies or even sexy ladies unless they put something that can identify them like NRIC, Driving License or Passport with you.

  2. Never believe a sad story for money unless they are your love ones (no choice)
  3. It’s prime time for taxi drivers to have a digital camera, camera phones, CCTV or something to record down any suspicious passengers without their knowledge.
  4. Taxi driver to have fellow taxi friends around Singapore to assist in identifying this “honest” female cheat.
  5. “Show me the money” techniques, if the passenger claim to have no money for the fare traveled do not ever continue the journey…put them somewhere safe like a bus stop nearby and end it ASAP regardless if they promise you to pay you later…at her/his destination they may make a run for it…

If you find the guy/girl is suspicious ask what’s wrong to force the cheat to let the secret out earlier to save your time & precious petrol.

  6. Bring an asthma inhaler in the taxi just in case someone is asthmatic or want to borrow money to buy the inhaler…in “emergency” and a spare bottle of mineral water since the inhaler will cause soar throat if the user never drink water after usage.
  7. Scams may lead to serious robberies so act “sympathetic” and request them kindly to call 1800-222-0000 for government sponsored financial assistance if they are in serious trouble.
  8. Scam the con artist, you can be as crazy as you like and pretend to be MORE urgently in need of money. Print some fake money and keep somewhere in the taxi so that if you got robbed…it’s fake.
  9. Taxi drivers used to have these ultra cool long distance radio to call for back up, wondered what had replaced it now.
  10. Ask the passenger to pay NETS if they don’t have cash.
