Foreign workers eat stray dog meat to cut food bill
KLANG – STRAY puppies are ending up as meals for foreign construction workers in Malaysia trying to cut their food bills.
Indonesian construction worker Wagang Saring said the high prices of food and the need to send money to families back home has forced him and his friends to eat pooches.
‘Puppies are the best as their meat is tender,’ said the 37-year-old Saring. ‘The meat gives us energy to work at construction sites. Three puppies will do for five men.’
Mr Saring was approached by The Star at a petrol kiosk in Bukit Tinggi after he was seen hitting a puppy with a piece of wood.
He knocked out the puppy with two blows and carried it back to his quarters where his friends had already built a fire.
- This is disgusting!! Arhhhh stray dogs as food!? I did seen some skull of dog previously in drain near some construction site when I was very young last time. My prediction is when the cost of food goes skyrocketing, people will hunt pets for food instead of strays so keep your pet cats or dogs indoors!!
Kindly call any SPCA to catch those stray dogs if they are around your neighbourhood, I know my area at Bukit Batok West Ave 5 have plenty of stray dogs which howls every night while they are on the hill.
