Recycle Bin Cleared On Time? Not Really!!

My location is Bukit Batok West Ave 5, the recycle bins are left to rot for the 2nd week in a row. The smell is not out yet since most of the stuff is plastic and not food materials, the recycle bin is filled to the brim with recyclable items.

Looks like either the bins are not big enough for the green folks around my area or the people handling this recycling is not up to the task to take our plastic to recycle.

I wondered what they do with it, I do believe they make money out of selling all the re-usable plastic as raw materials hence it’s a company and not a charitable non-profit organization handling this.

The bin did had a sticker attached saying that they will clear the bins every Saturday but for this weekend…it failed to do that. I wondered if any of other areas encountered similar unsightly recycle bins? Let me know! Email me the photos taken from your mobile of any quality and indicate the location taken.

It’s about time someone do something about this and make our environment more “clean and green”. Do put more bins or at least put a RUBBISH bin nearby folks! Rant complete!

    I know that no brain no pain. But, what the hell is wrong with them? Is it so hard to think that if the container is full they should wait a while with a recycle items to be left? Thinking is painful, I think. Have never seen such careless abroad.

    this happened to all the recycle bin around singapore. either the bins have to be bigger or the collection have to be more frequent… having said this, why cant SG ppl be more careful with their consumable, such as saying NO to Plastic or NTUC taking the lead to stop issuing out FREE Plastic Bags… my god.. stay at the counter and see how they pack those foods… 1 plastic bag for the EGG? 1 plastic bag for the MEAT? oh no…

    i dun have a good experience recycling either.cos one min i was recycling at the small bin at bukit panjang plaza mall and another min the cleaner uncle scolded me and throw all my recycled out on the floor cos he find them troublesome tat he have to do additional work to bring them to the huge recycle bin at the basement which he wanted me to recycle there instead which is at the rubbish chute area which is awfully smelly & nw i have bags of recycle materials tat i just left it at home

    it will be great if the mp can do something about it and have a recycle bin under my block.I realise Singaporeans is quite ignorant cos i find them throwing rubbish in the recycle bin too for their convenience sake
