The news said he suppose to be the most senior manager with power there but end up have to report to even higher management…the directors.

It's the kind of bureaucratic organization that the pencil pusher and the front line soldiers disagreements.

The privates of the army in Vietnam did shoot/bomb their newbie officer that comes in make newbie decisions that endanger the whole operation.

My speculation goes like this…The GM was reprimanded for his "inability" to control the situation during the crisis or unable to spin a better tale for the media before the international media catch wind of the news.

The GM was then indirectly demoted in responsibility and had to report to the board of directors for any decisions he make…making him inability to make a effective or efficient decision on a timely manner…

This may happen before or after the flyer breaking down.

Either that or the GM may be negligent in his work on the redundancy planning and contingency planning.

My personal favorite speculation is that ALL EMPLOYEES & Personnel including him reply on the directors for decisions hence the horrible response to the flyer incident.

(While the electrician & engineers trying to fix the problems)

GM to directors…how ah? the people up there asking for toilets…

Directors to GM…errr…err build a temp toilets…err errr give them toilet bowls up there…err err…

GM to directors..what is the decisions? ….(70 minutes later)

Directors:……(no response)

GM to directors…the passengers screaming at the intercom for more plastic bags & pails to pee and shit

Directors…errr..errr…how to give to them ah?

Gm to directors…the SCDF not train for this…how ah?

Directors to GM (1 hour later) …err errr flying special forces? Window cleaners? err..err why we never think of this before?…err ererrrrr

GM To directors: (4 hours later) pails delivered…to them…7 ppl rescued sir! out of 100++ in 4 hours!

Directors to GM: who ask you to hire ppl without my permission??? I never say anything about contract rescuers?

GM to Directors…ok what to do now the passengers scream at the intercom for us to reply…

Directors to Gm…err errr errr (1 more hour passed)

6 hours later…the flyer finally fixed and moved and the rest of the "victims" rescued…

Directors to GM: You are responsible for all of this!! Better write a better review on the news or else!

GM wrote to newspaper: we have 100% redundancy plan…yes yes…3 out of 6 drive units can move the flyer…but don't know why leh…cannot work.
