actually, at little puzzled at the ignorance. I thought most people who served NS would know.

These are red flares, normally used to signal emergencies in case of radio failure, etc.. And they were fired by the ships anchored around Singapore. They were firing them as a mini fireworks to celebrate new year.

This is just to create some waves to bring more people to read this article. Nothing new about that.

Not all BMT shows flares lah…hehe non-combat ones never get to see at all.
