Elderly, retrenched, jobless? Marina IR wants you

According to The Straits Times:

IF YOU are a senior citizen, jobless or in a low-wage job, have been retrenched or are a woman looking to work again, Marina Bay Sands wants you.

The integrated resort starts its first wave of hiring today, with a focus on rank-and-file operations staff such as housekeepers, security guards, waiters, technicians and cleaners.

It did not say how many people it would recruit this time, but the resort’s general manager George Tanasijevich said ‘as many as possible’ would be hired.

- Calling all Singaporean slave worker or people who cannot afford to retire earlier…sign up for more demeaning smiling jobs that mostly taken up by cheap foreign talents but now open to all Singaporeans!!.

There are jobs everywhere! Great incentives but unfortunately lower pay then they like to promise, service sector jobs will need you to do a excellent jobs to get tips thrown at your face by rich customers from overseas.

But fear not, there are many other types of high paying jobs available to the best of the best like programmers, croupiers, VIP social escorts (clean types if any), managers, accountants (high intake) and of course businessmen to start their other services companies to bring in tourist from other countries.

It is highly questionable on when these people can actually start work as most of these people might need a job urgently and by applying now…they might have to wait for sometime to get started and paid.

Unless these employments can start their job immediately on other casinos nearby as adhoc on the job trainings part time to at least get some earnings first.

Well, this might be a blessing in disguise however if Singapore are to be one of the most desired location to retire….we shouldn’t even be discussing about jobs worries for the elderly.

I strongly believe if the Government had done right in their policies…more people should be able to retired comfortably without the fear of losing their health care benefits, 3 meals a day taken care of, able to earn money without much strenuous activities and enjoy the rest of their lives happily doing what they want to.

I think this IR job application is for those who just want to pass their time instead of rotting at home doing nothing. I am sure that there will be a lot of people applying as many had lost their live savings to the recent financial meltdown. The only question is whether the salary is paid monthly (with CPF contribution) or hourly. I certainly hope is better money than working in fast food outlets.

Yeah…it’s a blessing in disguise so that Singaporean elderly can have some work to do….rather then starve to death.

Let’s hope there are more assistance to these elderly.

    Pay attention to your pain

    Your foot hurts

A herniated or prolapsed disc can produce a sharp pain in the foot. This disc problem can be missed because there’s no back pain.

    Act now

A simple test would be to do 10 cobra poses: Lie on your stomach and while keeping your hips on the floor, arch your back up and slowly straighten your arms. If the pain eases, you could have a slipped disc since these extensions relieve the pressure, so consult a doctor next.

    Your leg hurts

Take note if your leg hurts only when you are walking, running or bearing weight, since this is a common symptom of cardiovascular disease. This kind of pain arises because the arteries supplying the lower limbs narrow.

    Act now

Get a GP to check your cholesterol and blood pressure, since you may be at risk of a heart attack or stroke.

    Your breath smells bad

While 90 per cent of bad breath cases is caused by poor dental hygiene, the rest signal something more sinister. Lung disease, asthma and cystic fibrosis are examples of conditions that can cause highly acidic breath.

    Act now

Visit the dentist to determine if your bad breath is the result of common causes like dry mouth, sinus infection, gum
disease, etc. If it is not, the dentist will refer you to your GP for further tests to rule out the bigger problems.
