Food Review: Lucky Chicken Rice at Lucky Plaza!
Once upon a time, I was a energetic credit card sales man peddling credit card registration road shows one after another and often get my hunt of nice food near the city area or Orchard Road.
One of those food that I crave then was this Lucky Chicken Rice at Lucky Plaza which then is one of my favorite food instead of Macdonalds or KFC.
It’s very well hidden in Lucky Plaza which took me some time to locate it even I had been there few years back. It’s #02-110 at level 2 and near some corner store.
Last Friday, I went back there again hoping to taste the famous chicken rice again and hope to find it as tasty as before.
Let me review it today…
The Chicken Rice staple chili sauce is as HOT as usual!! It’s superb just like before and if you had never tried chicken rice chili sauce…where are you??
The meat is plenty and as tasty as before with generous salty light sauce as bottom base.
The only complain I have is the rice & soup. The rice taste not 100% authentic chicken rice or not properly cooked ….the soup is not as tasty as it used to be or because I had tasted better.
This chicken rice used to be 5/5 stars but today standard I can only give it 3 out of 5 stars which is already generous of me because of the meat and chili sauce that makes up for the ratings.
Pro:
- Generous Portion of Chicken
- Superb Chili Sauce
- Great Price at $4.30 is hard to find in Orchard Road.
Cons:
- Hard to find location in Lucky Plaza
- Rice had lost it’s usual standard
- Soup not creative enough
Overall it’s a spicy experience in a heart of the Orchard Area, can pop in for a quick bite when hungry.
