Free laptop when you sign up for course? – MLM + Scam?
According to AsiaOne News:
Walking past Plaza Singapura, you might miss this unobstrusive poster. Its message, though, is an enticing one.
Earn an education, plus win a free laptop?
Intrigued by the claim, AsiaOne decided to check out what exactly was on offer.
First, we decided to pay the advertised website a visit. The domain name itself was strange. Looking at the URL, it gave the impression that this was a recruitment agency rather than a learning centre as the name given was “Ryana Recruit”.
In contrast, the homepage was named “Student Centre”. We also found several spelling and grammatical errors on the website. For example, “illegal” is spelt as “iilegal“, “business” appeared as “buisness“, and according to them, “we also have online studies for the busy people”.

- This is seriously more worst then I thought, scams that fails in their website spellings and hired people to sign up fake university with “Free” laptops given.
I had remember once I was lured to a online university that uses multilevel marketing to sell their memberships.
If their quality of their online teaching material was good why would they resort to such marketing technique?
To my horror, the quality of the videos & articles in the “online university” is to teach & motivation to “work” for them to sell the membership instead.
But that time the “enrollment” fees are not that expensive which is in the hundreds only and further payments only happen at the beginning of each classes.
Only when I realized that the quality of the website is lacking such as their video lectures and documents made me realized that this is not the correct way of learning and quit the study.
Their promises of making money while learning is very very similar to the article above…so I guess I had to give the same warning again.
If it’s too good to be true….usually it’s really is.
Don’t be conned.
