Julie’s biscuits banned

According to SoShiok.com:

Food authority AVA recalls all Julie’s biscuits after finding melamine in 12 of its products.The public is told not to consume them.

Singapore, Oct 30, 2008 – All Julie’s biscuits are being removed from store shelves after Singapore’s food authority found melamine in 12 of its products.

The latest ban follows the alarming recall of an extra 20 snack products last weekend.

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) said they had found three biscuit products from China and 17 from Malaysia, to contain melamine.

Twelve of the 17 were from “Julie’s”, a popular household brand in Singapore and Malaysia

Another popular brand that was also removed is Khong Guan Assorted Biscuits, the line manufactured in Malaysia. Khong Guan biscuits made in Singapore are not affected.

The other banned products include Khian Guan Biscuit Osborne, Leo Gold Finger Choco, Santa Chocolate Gold Fingers, and Swan Chocolate Fingers.

Three other products from China – Lotte Koala’s March Cocoa Chocolate Biscuit,Hello Kitty Strawberry Cream Filled Biscuit, and an unbranded non-dairy creamer – were also found to have been tainted.
