Holy shit! The “Rats” had invaded Orchard road!!
Rats as big as 12 cm had been spotted in Orchard Road running around looking for food, they crawl into pipes, drains, unattended opened rubbish bins, left over of food by inconsiderate people and many more places they can “play”.
Personally, I felt it’s not only Orchard Road that had been invaded by Rats but many other locations in Singapore that have food left overs or uncovered rubbish bins….
It is very natural to start the blame game and start pointing fingers at either the authorities or the nearby properties owners/tenants for negligent in cleanliness…however I choose to find solutions to this rather then blame others.
Possible Solutions:
- My friend told me a simple solution is to bred CATS, many countries uses cats as the one type of natural enemy of rats which are much more hygienic than rats.
- Obviously cleanliness of the locations may be improved by more signs to promote cleanliness however I doubt it’s effectiveness.
- Spot a rat contest, anyone who catches a rat or find a rat nest will be given shopping vouchers by sponsors & quarterly cash prizes to be given away! Act Now! Muahaha…this can allow NEA or relevant authorities or tenants to label locations that had spotted rats with a metal sign board so that nobody else can claim more prizes from this find.
In order to prevent this sign board from placing AT nearby their premises of business, more effort will be taken to prevent infestation or bury rat holes by the people affected by the rats.
- Tag some captured rats with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Chip with battery to transmit it’s locations and plot a path where the rat goes.
Using the paths of the rat to plot their nest and start the seek and “destroy” mission by the relevant authorities.
Rats are the cause of the last big epidemic of diseases in the last “Black Death” from 1348 to 1350 hence we cannot let our guard down or the whole population may suffer disastrous results due to our inaction to the rats infestation of our dear land.
Of course, you can deny the seriousness of diseases now due to modern medical advancement such as “antibiotics” & many others….however, due to our rampant misuses of antibiotics had probably causes many viruses to mutate into more stronger version then the current strain.
These stronger strain may not heal easily with normal antibiotics and may require more stronger antibiotics which may be COSTLY to many.
If these rats continue to multiply in Singapore, we cannot assume a “happy ending” in a few years time.
For those not allergic to cat fur or asthmatic….consider getting a cat as pets!! Meow!
