According to Chanelnewsasia:
Singapore has confirmed its first case of Influenza A (H1N1).
The patient is currently being treated at the Communicable Disease Centre at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and is in stable condition.
The patient is a 22-year-old Singaporean woman who was in New York from May 14-24.
She arrived back in Singapore from New York on SQ25 on 26 May at 6.30am.
She began to develop a cough while onboard.
She passed the thermal scanner uneventfully as she did not have fever then.
Later in the morning, she consulted a GP who decided to send her to TTSH via a 993 ambulance, given her travel history.
She was immediately admitted for testing. Laboratory confirmation of her infection was made by midnight of 26 May.
The patient has been vigilant in monitoring her own condition and had sought immediate medical attention once she realized that she was unwell.
Her attending GP, through his quick response in activating the 993 ambulance for the patient, had also helped to minimize the spread of infection from this case.

I don’t like to say the words but I am going to say it again “I told you so!” it is here and now we have to prepare for the community outbreak scenario where the virus might had already spread via the passengers that arrived with her and also those who she had in contact with, that may means hundreds of possible infection if not careful.
We have identify all possible routes of infection and quarantine as many possible suspects of infection if possible or it might be already too late.
The article never clarify where she had gone to see the GP clinic and how she got there, did she use the MRT, Bus or Taxi? if she did, when? and is there a chance to find out who she got in contact with?
All these possibilities means it might not be able to contain the virus spreading here in Singapore just like in Japan where their train are always packed with people, a common scene in Singapore too.
But unlike Japan, Singapore people are a bunch of fools who don’t wear mask even if they are sick hence it’s a high chance that there may be a even worst outbreak here in Singapore compared to Japan.
All the above are just preliminary assumption but I thinking that Singapore is famous of their “Kiasu” (Scare to lose) and “Kiasi” (scared to die) attitude, we will start to do the right thing to prevent the virus from spreading further by being more hygienic and starts to wear mask in massive way.
I did see one guy wearing mask on MRT today so it’s a good sign…
