My friend had jio (ask) me for a movie for either Batman or Hancock but end up not even watching any because of a unpleasant online booking experience.

Firstly, I admit that it’s kinda late to book a 9pm movie at 5.30pm online because most of the bookable seats are taken and only left with 6 seats.

At one glance, there should not be any problem booking 2 seats as there are 6 seats available and surly it’s “ok” to book the seats ??

WRONG!!

The familiar Microsft Error pops up saying “Sorry, selecting seat E:05 is not allowed. This would leave a single seat in between your selection.”

OMG!! That means this feature is to limit people from buying only 2 seats when there is only 3 seats in a row??? Does that means you can only buy 3 or 1 seats ONLY in such situation?

I am so angry that I had decided to boycott that movie theater and watch it later in the week…possibly ALONE.

My friend’s (lowem) suggestion is to change the programming of the system to detect if the cinema is 80% full then remove this rule hence allow people to book 2 seats in such situation.

Another friend suggest to program the system in such a way that IF the remaining seats ONLY left with 3-in-a-row seats then temporary remove the strict rule to again allow 2 person to book.

(This of course might slow down the booking system slightly but it will helps fill up the seats totally in the theater which might be a good thing)
